New to OOTP21 - need help

I haven't played OOTP since version 13. I'm having a lot of issues with the game that I can't find solutions to:

1. The AI is constantly skipping over starters in my rotation. Every season I end up with at least 1 starter with over 40 starts.

2. The AI constantly changes my lineup, changes designated positions for players, etc.

These are the two big things currently but I've got quite a few more. Any help is appreciated.

First, check the updated manual

1), where you set your lineup there are options for strict rotation, always start highest rated, occasionally start highest rated....something like that. Make sure strict is selected.

Also, it could depend on the era you are playing

Also injuries. If you're not controlling and paying attention, or don't have the AI set up correctly it could be skipping players because of injury instead of replacing them

2) Again, check your settings. Are you or the AI in control of lineups
