Historical Question
Went to start a historical season and everything is accurate and awesome except ownership. 1979 Yankees are owned by some dude in never heard of. Am I setting it up wrong or does the historic simulations only apply to players and coaches and not owners.
Just curious doesn’t impact the love for the game |

I think all historical owners are fictitious characters. You will find a lot of fictional coaches and general managers as well. Historicals will have real life managers to start but a lot of fictional ones if you make a managerial change.

You can edit the owner and change him/her to a real life one if you so choose.

One thing I miss from the older versions of OOTP is that you used to be able to have a manager - and coaches, named but who did nothing, so you still ran the team. So you could go to retired players on that list and hire say Jackie Robinson or Yogi Berra to manage your team, instead of you being listed as the manager as it has been for 3-4 iterations now, which takes something out of the suspension of disbelief. Also the owners- since so many of the teams had the same owner or family owning them for decades in the 20th Century, it would have been very simple to just list Connie Mack, etc. as owners, and even in the George Steinbrenner era only a few major changes took place in ownership, certainly not a burdensome amount of data to have included instead of the fictional owners.
