First offseason, and there is something causing random free agent contracts to be offered?

I was simulating and all of a sudden I see I signed Orlando Hudson to a huge contract.

I have all setting and controls to manual other than minor league lineups and rosters, so why are there FA contracts being offered that aren't me doing it?
