Retiring Players
Do you retire players yourself or do you let them retire on their own terms? and if you retire them yourself when is the right time to retire them?

They retire on their own
However, you can manually do it too

Unless you tweaked your age settings the AI is good about deciding when they need to hang the cleats up. I rarely retire on my own unless I see an aging superstar that I want to go out gracefully and not have them play for some lower tiered league.

Wildest thing I saw when I simmed to 2040 was the Rockies releasing Arenado in 2024. He played some of 2025 in the Mexican League and then retired.
He never had a decline. He was still a 1st ballot HOFer. |
