Question about the pitcher-batter "matchup" photos

Is there a way to keep the "matchup" photos (i.e. the active pitcher in one lower corner, the active hitter in the other) to stay up when the ball is in play? They keep disappearing and, as a consequence, they are impossible to see when auto-playing the game.
