Corona virus in the game

None of this is intended to diminish the real life impact or seriousness of Coronavirus (COVID-19). I work in healthcare and want everyone to take it seriously and be safe and healthy, so please don’t take this as trivializing it. That said, will OOTP model anything in the game after the outbreak. Specifically will there be disease transmission in the game. Players have had “injuries” labeled as the flu or viral illness in the past, but what I’ve thought odd is that nobody else on the same team ever seems to catch it. It would be interesting to have to weigh putting a player on the DL vs letting him stay with the team and possible infect someone else. Also, will the entire Yankees minor league system start the OOTP season in quarantine? I know real life “injuries” before the season make their way into the game. Also, is there a way to push back the OOTP season to mirror real life. I’m interested in seeing the impact of trying to play 162 games but not starting my season until mid-April or even May or June. What about having games without fans? Obviously that would impact the financial model, but real owners are dealing with the same thing. I get if none of this can be done, but I think at a time where we don’t have real life baseball, it would be interesting to be able to model the impact of this through the OOTP world.

i personally would prefer this not be in the game. i get intent to add realism into the game, but sometimes a game like this would is a good way to escape the real world for a little while. just my 2 cents. either way i will play this game

Hey maybe add wars and political unrest in countries that produce a lot of prospects. Or maybe stock market crashes. Or Alien invasions.

To heck with the baseball part of it: let’s just make it a simulation of global affairs.

12:00 can’t get here fast enough.
