Good/Bad Relationships frustrating me!
Ok, I am doing a search to find that right manager. The one I think can turn things around. He has EVERYthing I want, but........when I click relationships, he has a bad relationship with half the freakin' team!
Do you guys pay attention to the relationships? Are they really that important? I could make some good hires, but this makes me slam the brakes. The managers who are ok for my team have Good or Excellent relationships, but they don't fit what I want. Advice here would be greatly appreciated!!! |

I think this aspect of OOTP isn’t the most well done feature in the game. I wish team chemistry was handled more like the way FM implements it.

In my experience the only real fallout from bad relationships is that players may refuse to sign or re-sign with your club over their dislike of the manager. Doesn't seem to affect their overall morale.

Honestly I pay zero attention to this. I just find the right guy for the job and if the players don't like it that's just too bad.

That's a fine attitude, natural, but I wonder if it affects morale and a lower playing motivation?

Part of the reason why I turn off coaching. This part of the game needs a lot of work.

I also think it's (if you don't cheat and use commissioner mode to look at ratings, which I admit I do, because the game gives so little info) as good a clue as you'll get to manager ratings. One good at "handling" players, I at least have assumed, will usually have better relationships. If they're good at "teaching" things, their development influence will be better. |

Because melodrama never happens in baseball.
