A story and a question
First the story....
2007 After 3 straight season of making the playoffs and just missing getting to the world championship this was supposed to be The Year. Time to go for it. Payroll is about $700,000 under the $95m cap, $45m dedicated to the starting rotation. April comes and its time to get goin.... first 10 games of season 2-8 not a good start but thats okay we can turn it around right? Not yet, my $13m leadoff leftfielder who was the only player performing up to expectations goes down for 2 months with a broken hand..... June Amateur draft rolls around... what a disaster of a season, bunch of underachiving millionaires 15 games under .500 near the bottom of the league in ERA & AVG and to add insult to injury my wife files for divorce after just under a year of marriage.... 3 days later I meet this girl her name is Denise maybe things will start to turn around.... June passes with the team slowly improving after a trade of my underachieving $13m CF who the fans single handedly blamed for our playoff dissapointment the previous season... The trade deadline approaches and I have some decisions to make. 2 of my starting pitchers who make $20m between them will be free agents one of them has seen his best days, I also have several other potential FA's to make decisions on. Do I dump players and rebuild for next year? July 31st rolls around and after a very good month the team is now 50-54 but still 9 games back of the wild card with 8 teams in the way. Well I dont think we will make the playoffs so I dump most of my potential FA's(along with a tonne of salary), and pick up two mid 20's SP a 27 year old CF and a young SS. I decided to hang on to my 37 year old 3B who was having an excellent year but was also a FA. The month of August was a good one climbing back over .500 and passing a few teams along the way but still we were 7 games back of a wild card.... September, first 2 weeks of the month we only lose 1 game and suddenly find ourselves within 3 games of the wild card team. The last week of the season comes and we amazingly find ourselves 1GB of the WC. What a week, the WC team proceeds to lose a game and we are tied!!! 2nd to last day of season we win and are up by 1game. Last day of season we lose but thats ok as StLouis loses their final game and we clinch the Wild Card by 1 game! We finish the season 89-73 and are set to make a run.Ironically, in the first round we are facing the team which I traded one of my SP's for my CF and SS.... should be interesting. To be continued.... Now the simple question ![]() Is there any way to view your teams month by month records other than adding it all up manually by looking at your sched? |

Awesome story there! I love it when those things happen!
In answer to your question, I don't think so.

...but it would be nice.
And this lovely story and question brings me to another thought that I assume has been discussed before. I have been wondering if it would take up too much memory in a future version of OOTP to have pitcher vs batter breakdowns. Would that be cool, or what? When I play out the playoff games in my solo league, I really get into Lefty vs Lefty matchups etc - and I always find myself thinking how cool it would be to see how well Appleton has hit against Martinez in his career, etc. Too much, maybe?

I believe that storing the pitcher vs. batter matchups would take up a huge amount of space. But it's still a good idea
![]() Month by month records wouldn't be too unforseeable. |

Month by Month would be great, but adding manually wouldn't be to hard for yourself. If you wanna see another teams month by month, than it would be a good idea to have it in the game...could it be a possibility for a patch with this feature?

I'd love to see a running chart with a team's winning percentage. It would be immediately obvious when your team goes through hot and cold streaks. And it shouldn't take up much memory, if any. The PC already creates similar "streak" charts for hitters' BA and pitchers' ERA. Why not create the same chart for a team's winning percentage?

It would be great to see the peaks and valleys in your season, especially this particular season. Maybe I will do it manually and throw it into excel.

I always chart my season in Excel as I go along. It's fun to see a long winning streak (and equally un-fun to see a long losing streak). Creating a chart of winning percentage gives me a good, quick, visual impression of how my season is going -- the highs and the lows.

I'd like to resurrect this thread - as I too am interested in this.
My 1989 "Why Not" Orioles started off poorly, then spent most of May through August in first place. In the last month I've lost my two best hitters to season ending injuries, I've suffered five shutouts and two six game losing streaks, and I'm now mired in a 10 game losing streak. I'm in 4th place, and the three teams below me are all tied for last place and only two games behind me! I'd like an easy way in game to be able to graph the progress of the teams in my division, just like DangerZ's editor has for High Heat. Any chances this will show up in an update? |
