Smile We want the patch today!

As a true sign of impatience. I am starting a thread to encourage the patch to come out today. I realize this will in no way influence Markus nor should it, because it has to be "ready" before it comes out...but as usual...the suspense is killing me.

Join the chant. Release the patch today!

Since the release of v5, I have eagerly anticipated the release of the upcoming patch. I've almost felt like I've been playing a pre-release version of OOTP5, and that the real version will be the patched one. I'm really looking forward to it. But I'd rather wait than be disappointed by a buggy patch.

I have not heard anything about these being in this patch, but could be wrong.

I'll start a thread called "Don't Release the Patch today!"... I'd rather the patch come out next week, instead of today when it is not finished.

If the Vanishing player bug isn't extinguished with the new patch I may toss my CD out the window in frustration. I'd like to get down to some 19th century simming without this annoyance.

darkhorse, question for you? When exactly has the "disappearing player" bug occured? I have run a historical league starting in 1901 and currently in 1914. I started using Cleveland and in 1911 switched to the Cards. On both of my teams I never had a player disappear. Also, I "player track" all the big name players to see if their OOTP careers will mirror their real life careers and none of them disappeared either, and in 15 years I probably have close to 40 players being tracked. I have read other posts where it seems players disappear when you have more than 40 total minor leagues or at a certain level or something along those lines. Is this when players are disappearing for you or is it always?
The thing that I have done to limit the number of players each year in the draft was delete all players with less than 100ab or less than 50ip, and early on, that's about 1/3 of every draft class. Don't know if just a mass amount of players is causing the disappearing bug, if so, maybe you can try that as it seems to work for me.

Either that or hope this patch fixes it

Yeah, according to last week's message, it should be out the "end of next week" being now. Any update?

I know Cooley has it right... so do the betatesters. If they don't have it yet to work out the kinks and bugs, then you guys probably won't see it this weekend.

After the betatesters get their hands on it, they should be able to "work" it over a while, and you should see it sometime thereafter. I know this patch is anxiously being awaited, but, we will get it right before we send it out to the public, guys!

I know waiting drives people nuts, but this weekend may not be a viable option for mass release. Am sure Markus will inform all of us when the time comes.

"Patience is a virtue, but man I want it now!"

Hang in there, guys!

There is a lengthy thread on the subject here.

http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...ible+vanishing

It appears unfailingly when a 19th century league is created. Frustrating because there were no such worries with OOTP4.
