After downloading the live players and standings, can I start the season from the beginning with the updated rosters?

Yes, if you go through a new custom game you can choose different options for the live start, one combo is updated rosters (and ratings if you wish) but starting from opening day.

Tried Custom, but I don't see the live update option, just starting opening day.

I found it under custom start using real world league, second screen, I do believe!
