How to use a 2-way player
I bought Ohtani and I can make him play as a 2-way player checking it at the player strategy. But I have not being able to make play as a starter (or reliever), and DH at the same time in the same game.
If he play as SP then automatically he is removed from my lineup, no matter if he is tired or not. Am I losing something?

You simply cannot start him & have him DH in the same game at the same time. He's gonna be in your 10-man lineup as a pitcher or a DH or an OF

Are there any circumstances (either controlled by AI logic or by our settings and roster) where the DH would be lost by moving that player into the field mid-game? Or does the game prevent this relatively rare case from ever happening?

I've never seen it and somehow doubt it would work but you could try putting your DH as a defensive sub

The DH "role" is forfeit the moment the person designated as the DH is moved to the field, at least in MLB. Irl, you can start a pitcher in a game (in the AL), as they do in the NL, without the DH. (You can't call the pitcher the DH, however, and you can't use the DH later in that game.) Last edited by Drstrangelove; 07-18-2019 at 03:32 PM. |
