Not in OOTP 4, in the Rockies/Astros game today. Always cool to see that happen

I'm not that surprised, because Craig is the best 2b that has ever played the game.

Thats great cause i got Biggio on my fantasy team.
Got clobbered last week and the guy who beat me after 1 week of games puts up a message saying he didnt want to waste his time if he knew he was gonna win and basically that we should come to him for advice. I had to laugh cause its only 1 week and Biggio didnt do anything last week, neither did Giambi. Clemens hurt his hand in his first start and got rocked, Maddux and Schmidt went on the dl along with Chris Carpenter. So i guess im suppose to panic. I did pick up Jensen (SF), Bere(Cubs)and dropped Schmidt & Carpenter but im not gonna drop Maddux after one week. Its also funny cause the guy got most of his points off Randy Johnson and the only reason he got him is cause hes running the league and gave himself the first pick. |

Whats amazing is that in my league, about 2 weeks ago he did that!!! hit for the cycle. Also opening day, R. Johnson pitched a shutout, and schilling did the same the next day mimicing the MLB's. So if it's that acurrate...my tigers are playing 300 ball....yum. Im going to play out the seaosn as quick as possible and take the winning team in the World Series....Markus...great job.

Best second baseman ever... Biggio? Sandberg? Alomar?
You know, I heard a weird rumor today that there were 2B before the 1980s. |

***STUPID POST ALERT***
Here's an incredibly dumb thought I've been dying to get off my chest... maybe you guys can tell me how misguided it is, but I've been itching to ask nevertheless... Why do we celebrate hitting for the cycle? I mean, there's something very mathematically pure about getting all the possible hit combinations together, but it seems to rely more on luck (a double that squirts through the left-fielder's legs, ruled a triple by the official scorer) than on any amount of skill. I recall seeing a few players needing a single to complete the cycle, smacking a ball down the rightfield line, and staying at first to get their credit. The idea of the cycle implies that hitting a single, double, triple, and homer is better than hitting two doubles, a triple, and a homer, or three homers and a single. Maybe it's a tribute to the "completeness" of a player, that he can get all kinds of hits (like Barry Bonds has the hardest time hitting singles, because those darn balls keep flying over the wall). I'm not sure I buy that. I think it can be assumed that every major league baseball player can hit a single, but not as many can constantly hit home runs, and even less can hit triples. A cycle comes out to 10 total bases. Why don't we consider anyone who gets 10 total bases in a game to have "hit for the cycle?" ***END STUPID POST*** P.S. No sarcasm or "modest proposals" intended here... I find this a genuinely stupid idea, but wanted to know if it was just moderately inane or complete buffoonery. Thanks!
