Perfect Trout: Sell or Keep?

I personally have developed a businesslike relationship with LIVE cards. I dump them as soon as they break the barrier into the next card tier. However, I just got perfect Trout, and am unsure if selling him is the best course of action?

I'm especially nervous about any card that literally has nowhere to go but down. I understand Trout is one of the few "sure bets" to stay at perfect, and he's a pretty good card with a low-ish PP value on the AH (45k-ish), so it doesn't appear selling him would net much in the way of other improvements.

Anyways, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts on perfect Trout. Is he a lock to stay 100, or is any LIVE card too much of a gamble to keep?

Definitely keep him. He is well above the perfect cut-off line and provides a ton of bang for your buck at perfect since live cards are more common. He will be useful in perfect leagues for the entirety of the game.

I also look forward to you no longer complaining about not opening perfect cards.

Keep it, so you can finally be happy.

I got him and he does not perform as well as I would expect him to but he is a keeper.

I got a perfect Campanella over a month ago and haven't complained about packs since then. I'm just happy to know it's possible to get a perfect even though I'm still way on the wrong side of bad luck :P. I was starting to think something was wrong with my RNG or my computer or something. Obvious there wasn't, but that's what it felt like. I'm fine with terrible luck, I've had it my whole life.
Thanks for the response.

Trout is one of the best baseball players of all time. He is the only live player I run at the perfect level. So no, dont sell him.

Even whales play Trout. That should tell you something. It's probably the least expensive card on most whale rosters.

You will not get an equivalent player from what you get by selling him.
If he was an historical card he would go for well over 100K on the market.

It's a great card. Usually gets me around 6 wins at the Perfect level. Not all 100's are the same in my opinion. I believe his rating or more like a 107 or so and if he were to slump it would have to be massive before he goes below perfect. You should be fine with him and he can really help a team.

Trout is not like any other live 100 cards. He is a once in a generation talent...maybe even better than that. If he stays healthy he could actually end up the best ballplayer of all time. He's already accrued enough WAR at age 27 to make the hall of fame. That's insane.

I have no inside knowledge, but given his ratings, he's probably like a 115. He could probably go 0-50 and still be a perfect.

I was lucky enough to draw his card a couple weeks into 20. I debated selling him (at the time he was going for like 60-70k), and even had him up on the auction house for about a week. But I was pushing a high number (wanting 80+), and nobody bought him, so I just stuck him in my lineup and never looked back. Once the prices started falling a bit more on him, there's no way I'd sell him now.

Actually the Trout I have is in 19. He has averaged 280 with 29 homeruns in 3 seasons. I really expected him to do better with that 100 rating. But he is the best hitting fish in the league.

Any way I can transfer him to 20?

Still trying to figure out why he barely hits over .200 for me, but I'm keeping him!

Ballpark modified? That is pretty low. That being said, he is not a great contact higher, so he isn't going to give you high average. He will give you great OBP, decent defense, and some dongs.

He's the best 100 Live card, without a doubt. I've been playing him in Perfect and while he doesn't hit a ton, neither does anybody else on my team!

Yeah maybe? Honestly I've never looked at my stadium that closely. I guess I should!

He has gotten a bit hot the last few games and is up to .194 now though!

What are you feeding him? Worms or minnows?

What's the formula used to calculate ratings? is that common knowledge?
