The playoffs are total random garbage now
I already know the responses I will get to this, but I don't care. The last two season I have had the best team in my perfect league, only to get CRUSHED in the playoffs. I have played this game forever. I use team strategies, player strategies and ballpark settings. My last two regular seasons have been amazing, but a total waste of my time with the garbage playoff results.
I went 119-43 last season and 128-34 this season in perfect leagues. I know I got swept last year, but this year is even more of a joke. My team ERA is 2.89 for the season and I was 71-10 at home. First two games of the playoffs at home, I have given up 28 runs! Mariano Rivera gave up 10 runs in 57 innings all season but gives up 6 in 1/3 of an inning in the playoffs? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Sorry, but I call total BS on all of this. In my last 12 regular season games, I gave up 29 runs, then give up 28 runs in two playoff games at home! I lost game three 4-2. Do I expect to win a title every year? I do not, but to get swept out of the opening round of the playoffs in back to back seasons with the teams I have assembled is unrealistic in every way. I am done. I see no point in the effort put into the regular season, only to see it not matter one bit in the playoffs. It is quite obvious to me that the playoffs are completely random, especially looking at other leagues as well. The game has been deleted from my computer and I will never spend another dime supporting this game or any OOTP product again. |

I played OOTP for years before Perfect Team came along. Many times I dominated the regular season only to lose in the playoffs. It happens. I still enjoy the game. Isn't it great that it is such a challenge to win a Perfect League championship? After all, it is the pinnacle. More fun to have it take awhile then win it in one shot. It gives you something to keep playing for.

Petdawg, let me make a gentle suggestion. If you're winning 120 games a year, maybe instead of beating up against weaker teams you should join the perfect league with all the top teams. Suddenly it won't feel like an extreme disappointment if your bought/lucked-into team doesn't win the World Series every year, because you'll be facing all teams as good as or better than yours. IMO that's the best remedy for your current Evil Empire situation.

Adios! Lots of good games to play if this isn’t your cup of tea.

Stay away from games with a luck component though, you will get the same thing and get pissed there since you apparently seem to hate that so much. Try something ultra-skill based, like chess.

Doesn't track how far you get in the playoffs. Doesn't track your overall record rank. Not sure what the 'overall' Score stat is as there is no column pop up defintion |

Chess???!!! Are you kidding me??? The complaints on the chess forum are a lot like here. He cheated (used computer AI), I made an obvious mouse slip and he wouldn't give me back my move, he won't resign, but let's his clock run out, this site is garbage always lagging and I lose on time, whenever I logon I always get someone 300 points higher than me etc. etc. etc...

So what exactly are you saying? Are you saying that the game cheats or something? What's this BS that you're referring to? I really don't understand why you seem so surprised that this can happen, but apparently you think improbable things shouldn't happen? But then they'd be impossible, not improbable, right? So if you agree it's possible, then where's the problem? If you think it's impossible, then I know where the problem is.

Your record during the season speaks for your team. Too bad you may have been out managed in the playoffs. Thanks for spending the money that you already did as it helps the Devs make the game better for us serfs.

It happens. My Virginia team just lost in the first round for the 3rd consecutive year in bronze where we average 130 wins a season. Meanwhile my other 2 teams could not stop winning in the playoffs and are both heading to to diamond.

I feel really ashamed to not being able to move out of bronze with a team like that, but they must be cursed
