Why did my schedule change?

I have a game going with two leagues a 16 team league and an 8 team league with pro/rel between the. They each have custom schedules which I made myself. Everything has been running fine so far. I just got to the Opening day for the new season and noticed that the schedules have all changed. The 16 team league still lists my file as loaded but has a completely different schedule. The 8 team league loaded a brand new file. The minors for the 8 team league did the same while the minors for the 16 team still have my schedules loaded and working.

Is this a bug I have hit or does anyone know whats going on? Unfortunately as Im at opening day it looks like I just have to suck up this season being a complete write off and hopefully its fixed going forward.

What kind of schedule change are you seeing? I believe this schedule will automatically change home team from one year to the next but the basic schedule will stay the same.

sorry should have been clear. My custom schedule runs matches friday-sunday every weekened March to September for the majors and tuesday-thursday for minors. At the start of this season the 16 team league schedule changed to have matches similar to the MLB where there are matches on nearly every single day. The other league had a schedule that comes with ootp loaded up but no reason why it suddenly decided to load a different file

if more than one schedule fits the league, i believe it will start to rotate through all of them.

you can force a specific schedule by make the league schedle file name the same as your league's name (ml-level league name)

you can also append _C_A and _C_B at end of file name (as many as you want) to cause them to rotate through any number of specific scheudules that you name this way.

e..g

MLB_C_A.lsdl
MLB_C_B.lsdl

if they are the exact same schedule, you prevent the 'jumbling' of matchups... if they are different, you are basically dictating that jumbling of matchups... all depends on personal preferences as to how you do it, but both are possible.

if you still get teh other schedules getting mixed in, go 'cut' and 'paste' them outside the "schedules" directory (..data/schedules/ folder)

you can even safely delete them. they are all in an archive in the backup_data folder too. plus, each time you 'update' it's going to re-copy those files to the schedule directory, and you have to repeat that removal, if it is a problem.

---

i've had this happen too in the past. i had some schedules names _A _B and it magically reverted to the normal MLB schedule one year... i re-imported my "_A_ commented schedule file and it fixed itself. i may have removed the MLB scheduel, i don't remember. maybe, somethign didn't quite save right or who knows...

check before season starts the first couple years after you fix this inadvertent change. it shouldn't happen again, but just check in preseason so that if it does, you can fix it -- not something you can fix once season starts, no more importing allowed.... once it's rotating properly between the files, or jumbling 1 file named for league, you know it's good to go for future seasons.

Ill keep an eye on it as it just happened again. My guess is something relating to promotion relegation is causing it to regenerate the schedule each year as everything was running fine for 10+ seasons and then this started when I turn on pro/rel. When it tries to regenerate it then isnt finding my file properly and just reverting to another file/default
