Read some threads ... there is absolutely no comparsion between ootp5 and Baseball mogul ... not slamming Mogul but IMO playing OOTP5 is like reading "The Grapes of Wrath" and Mogul is like reading the Cliff's Notes

a quick question

ootp4 ran really slow on my computer,

are the min requirements the same or does it take a more advance computer to play the game.

That one I can't answer because I've gotten a new computer since playing ootp4 .... if you had ootp4 then you know the depth of the game, ootp 5 IMO was well worth the upgrade despite all the crying on the board ... the HTML reports are fantastic and it does a much better job of tracking the seasons ... the only place I've noticed it being slower is during the draft

If you will do a search here for mogul or baseball mogul you will see that a number of comparisons between the two have been made. Here's the very brief version:

OOTP5=BASEBALL
BM2004=baseball lite

Well...what are you looking for...?

I have Mogul...High Heat and OOTP..so I kinda have an idea of which strengths and weaknesses are..but even so...without knowing what you want and are looking for it is difficult to say.

So Markus can have more money to delevelop OOTP6 (or pay the rent, whichever is more important) !

Seriously, this game is the best for baseball game players that want ot play with any player in history, do career leagues, create entirely new baseball universes with fictional players, etc.....All for a ONE TIME LOW PRICE ! No more shellingout $30 bucks each year just for season stats like the other replay games. I also feel it is better than BBMogul, which I feel is one step up from "Backyard Baseball"

I do sometimes get bored simming and just reading results and PbP however. Once in awhile, I miss the graphics of SSHH2001 (IMHO the best of that series). Sometimes, not always.

I honestly don't think Markus needs to be worrying about that.

OOTP5 runs just as fast as OOTP4, but if 4 was too slow for you, 5 will be too.

Too bad, though. You're missing out on one of the best games ever, both in terms of playability and support. Hell, if OOTP6 is too slow for my computer, I'll spend $2500 + $35 just to play it.

Well, I still run an old pc, ootp 4 runs slow, ootp 5 is even slower. But there is light at the end of the tunnel!! A new pc is just around the corner. Buying a up to date PC (like at least a 2.4 pentium 4 with over a GB of ram) will be opening up a whole new world to me.

just think, a jump from a gateway 166 with 64MB ram (maxed out!!) to the above specs. I am in for a real awakening!!!!

Actually playing OOTP is like drinking a perfectly made microbrew, while Mogul is drinking warm piss/Bud light.

I know how you feel, I unpacked a brand new computer today, and the first thing I did was download OOTP5...sadly, then I had to go to work.

Can't wait to play it. There's more than just a game in the OOTP series, there's a neat community of like-minded folks and outstanding communication between the creators of the game and the customer.

That's special and that lifts it head and shoulders above any other baseball game and increases the fun that comes from playing it.

Why should you buy OOTP5? Because:

(1) it's about 4.67 trillion times more fun that Mogul or Strat-o-Matic or any other game of this genre;

(2) you can play it forever and ever and ever, and user developed mods keep coming to add even more value to the core game, and;

(3) developer and community support is simply marvelous.

Stop thinking about it. Buy it now!
