Can you export a league to restart in a Custom mode?

This is potentially tricky, ive setup an Independent league that I run alonside the real life MLB and its MILB affiliates.

I have since run the league for 10 years, stopping every few to change some settings to get better numbers for how I want my league to play.. each time ive done that ive saved it as a quickstart.

However when I load that quickstart, it puts me into the current year (2029) rather than the year I want.

Is there a way for me to take out just that league ive created and put it into a real world MLB circa 2004? Or do i have to start from scratch?

I dont want the players etc to carry over, just the teams and the details ive given them. Also the league settings and modifiers.

Im assuming i cant, but id love to be able to!

make a template. think it's an option under league structure once game is created? check manual if not

it will keep the players though. you can delete and re-fill leageu with new fictional or import real players at that point.

if you create a template just before you finish creating a league (don't 'begin' yet), it will have all your settings and no players included -- unless it's a real league... in that context it have it, or it may be the same and only after finished loading the first time -- not 100% sure on that part.

With a Quick Start or Template, I have never been able to change the starting date, which I think is what you want to do. By that I mean if I start a league in 1946, run it to 1966 and make a new Template, the league will always start in 1966--no way to change that.

If anyone knows how to change back to 1946, I'd be glad to hear it.

Yeah thats what I was hoping.

Ive ended up re-doing the whole template as a new save, seems to be working ok so far.

is it player ages that is the problem, or you literally cannot change the date at all?

if just player ages, you can export and apply a formula on a spreadsheet to fix that in a matter of seconds.

also is that only templates created after creation? templates during creation are a little different animal -- should be able to change the date on those ones at least.

a good habit to make one before you click "start league". heck, i make multiple ones as i setup a league "1-game settings done" "2-minors setup" 3-MLB setup" etc. etc.. after i do a chunk of work i make a template.

i'll only keep the last one before creation and delete the rest once i finish up and start the league up for the first time.
