How Are MLB Budgets Decided in OOTP 20 / OOTP In General?
I fired up a new MLB game with my Padres as we have a lot of excitement going on. This is going to be fun regardless but I was kind of bummed to see we have no budget room or money for extensions.
I am aware that Machado probably did take a lot out of the teams finances in real life, but in real life they seem to be functioning as if they still have money to spend. I know we didn't land Harper but they were pursuing him and there have been other FA rumors as well. I also wasn't even able to replicate the Machado signing using that sept quickstart in OOTP19 as the Padres didn't have the funds.. but clearly did in real life. Anyways, this isn't a really big deal or anything I could always just go into commissioner mode and give up on challenge mode if I wanted to give the Pads more budget room, was mostly just curious where OOTP gets these numbers from and how they are decided.

I plan to play as the Padres as well. How does their budget project to increase from 2019 to 2020 & 2021. Is it projected to head upwards? I haven't got OOTP XX yet. Waiting for the full game to release on Steam.

PLEASE fix the Padres. The owners admitted the past few seasons they were paying off the ballpark debt. They have promissed to increase spending even further and have recently made an offer to Dallas in the FA. It's absolutely moronic that when will Myers contract kicks in the following season, they are officially over 30 million over budget. This is their budget.
