2 Way Player - How do i get him to Start and Hit
I just traded for a player and realized he was an Ohtani like stud. I was trading fora 2B - only to find out he was a decent pitcher - a perfect #5. Anyway, it his turn in the rotation....but i can't get the game to recognize him as a pitcher and a hitter in the same game (in a DH league). What setting do i need to enable to make this happen?
Or is the answer he can't hit and pitch in the same game (which would be dumb). How do i swap out DH for a P?????? |

You could just DH for another position maybe? A light-hitting defensive wizard perhaps?

I have 2 2-way players and want to know how to get them to play like Ohtani did this year for Anaheim.
Start once every 5 or 6 days, and play the field or DH in between, but have not been able to figure it out other than micro-managing every single game, and that would take way too long... |

Anyone know how to do this? If i sim... the game will have him pitch, but won't have him bat in place of the DH. Ideas????

Can't be done. If he pitches he can't DH the same game. No team does that in the world right now just to give real life as an example.
He can take the field or dh in between starts. The AI in my universe does that with him all the time. He actually gets more AB's in OOTP then real life since in RL he wasn't playing every game between starts. |

In addition, you can choose to forgo the DH* in games he starts (there's a button for it if you go to play out the game during lineup creation). Of course then it's like you're playing under NL rules, so beware when he's pulled and relievers come in. You'd need to just auto-sim the whole game (since it sounds like you don't actually want to play out the game). A bit awkward but would accomplish what you want.
*which AL teams are allowed to do in real life |
