Uninstalling older versions ?s
I can't get the support site to work. It won't recognize my login. So I'm posting this here.
I just purchased OOPT 19. I downloaded all the demo versions between 16 and 19. I imported my saves from each version to the next. OOTP 19 works great! How do I uninstall all the older versions? Here's what happens when I try. /Program Files x86/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 15 I click on uninstall.exe and get the following error message. Invalid Start Mode: archive filename What am I supposed to do? Thanks! |

have you tried the Windows Uninstaller that's in the Control Panel? It should delete whatever program you select? i never use program uninstallers myself, instead use Windows to do the job. guess that is assuming you have Windows .....

Sometimes it's a good idea to keep the the last version around just in case you have problems with the newest edition.
You can always use the older version as backup. I'm am not computer literate, but I have deleted older versions by going to the OOTP Development folder and deleting the entire version. It is sent to the Recycle Bin and then deleted at the end of the day when you shut down your computer. I have also used the Windows 10 uninstall to delete unwanted software. Go to the Control Panel... select Programs and Features... from the list, highlight the program you want to delete... then go to the top left and choose "uninstall or change the program". All of the above have gotten rid of unwanted programs and software. |

grab your license before deleting ootp. if you have that, you can delete and re-install whenever you want.
if uninstall is broken, delete the directory for that release only. then go to c:\users and search "ootp" or "out of the park" -- may need to search for both. do not delete indiscriminately here... make sure it's the proper year and leave anything else alone. same with "my documents" if your saved games are there. that will free up some space worth the effort. the stuff in the user folders is no big deal, really. there might be a few registry keys leftover, but it's irrelevant for the most part. if you have an app that cleans your registry, go ahead. it will findn the missing paths and offer to delete, etc. if not, do not download one. they are potentially a very dangerous app for what they do and any benefit they provide in very rare contexts. 'registry cleaners' often do more harm than good. push comes to shove, the old spybot search and destroy freeware had a very non-intrusive basic one. not sure about their new stuff. i stick to the old as long as they provide updates. it's ugly and most likely harder to use, but i think the new stuff is not freeware and a bit bloated in comparison.
