How to separate stats?

Our league has a regular season and in season cup tournaments. I've tried scheduling these cup games as exhibition, tournament, playoff, etc.

I don't want them to count in the standings AND I want the stats from these cup games to be listed separate from the regular season stats. I accomplished this several versions back, but I can't get the stats to show separately in the game stat area for the players.

Any help?

Upon further digging, it does show them on league reports in an Exhibition line for a player's stats.

Just doesn't show in the game.

i have never looked, so just devil's advocate:

the drop down of any player list for "spring training" "career" "regular season", make sure nothing is listed there... there are a ton of options, so i don't recall that specific one, plus its a newer feature and may not even be listed to begin with.
