Frequency of backups

I have my settings to auto-save every game, but I also do so manually after each game I play (especially if my team wins). And 99 percent of the time I also do a backup of that season file after that day's action (usually two or three games' worth) which doesn't take all that long for my 1974 season (unless I get a protracted Not Responding message), but for the 2018 season, with so many more teams and data, those daily backups seem to take forever. How much of a risk am I taking if I do those backups much less frequently? Thanks.

only risk is if something crashes or get messed up - you may have to go back a week, or a month to restore things, depending on how often you decide to back-up. personally, i back-up every month of game play - same as my auto-back-up setting. i lost 50 years once, so if it works out i need to go back a month, or a year (as i did another time) it's not the end of the world.

I try to backup every RL day when I finish playing. I don't use the in-game backup feature though. Instead, I create a .zip file of the entire league i.e. League_Name.lg, and cut/paste it onto an external hard drive. It might take a minute or so of my time, and it has helped me out of some serious jams more than once.
