Please change updater to be aware if user is not using Perfect Play

Sigh - yet another patch. No wonder I've only been able to play a regular season game about 10 games in the last month...
It's a real pain to wait 10-15 minutes just to even play a game every time there's a patch.

12/17 19.11.128
12/10 19.11.124
11/30 19.10.122
11/27 19.10.120
11/19 19.9.117
11/10 19.9.115
11/8 19.9.114
11/3 19.9.111

I wish the OOTP developers would create a smart update that determines if the user is signed up for Perfect Team, and if the user isn't signed up, then it skips the update.

The updates are beginning to get insane even for me, a PT user...

I agree. It wouldnt be so bad but i have wait to start up the main game. Perfect Team should be its own exe. Would be better.

The updates aren't just for PT, FYI.

Yeah I've pretty much stopped playing. It certainly seems that regular ie non-PT players are collateral damage right now.

And here we go again. Going to be a crappy day at work today. I love to get up and play a bunch of games before leaving for work. Not going to happen today. Instead I have to sit through watching per cents of installing. All for the glorious thrill of one silly section of the game that bores me to tears. Trade me a chicken and I'll give you a cow. Just silly.

I don't care if it is separate or not, but I do think something needs to change with the way patching works. Why do I have to download all 1.4GB every time there is a small update? I don't think it used to be like this.

It's been like this since at least OOTP15, which is when I first started playing it.

You don't have to do the update until you have a good time to do it. If you aren't worried about PT updates, then you won't be impacted as much by the update. Though I have found that performance generally has improved for me after most updates.

Unless you take Steam offline updates are automatic.

Yeah i think its the Steam users that got the short end of the stick now. If i had bought the one of the site, i could choose when to update. Now i'm forced to update or else i cant launch it. Honestly, it only adds a minute or so on to my loading time but i guess its because i have 100mbps down. I had no idea it was downloading 1.4gb every time it updates. I would hate to have a slow connection, would make it unplayable IMO

That's kind of crazy, there should be a toggle in-game to turn PT off/on. There's options for everything else, not sure why that's not in.

Maybe Markus could add an "optional beta" of 19.11.128. Non-PT steam users could opt-in to the "beta" and that should keep the game from updating.

Yeah i know other games do that. In Euro Truck Simulator 2, you can stay at a previous release by selecting it in the beta tab.

Then don't update, simple as that Steam also offers the option to disable auto-update, and Steam updates are usually < 100 MB.

Case closed.

This is nonsense. We are currently supporting & improving a free online mode we introduced late in the year via updates, just as we do early in the year with the normal OOTP. What's wrong with that?

Steam updates are less than 100 MB, as they only update the files that were changed. So, no issues at all
