My rotation has a brutal ERA so I thought I'd try extreme bullpening, evidently it's not allowed.

I set my SP to RP and cleared my rotation.

The AI called up McCarthy to start the game. Sent down some guys, I can tell by the (13) by their name in the manage roster screen. Some position players who weren't needed were also called up. Ugh.

No, you have to have at least a four-man rotation (except in the playoffs).

Cingrani started my next game and threw 67 pitches despite the 30 pitch limit. Evidently PT doesn't want you to tinker past swapping out players. This is disappointing.

You set 30 pitch in strategy menu? because 30 in the menu of pitching is for 30% of is stamina.

No, it means this pitcher should start as a spot starter 30% of the time in place of the last starter in the rotation. The way it is set in the image above will do nothing.

When I adjust the Pitch Count in the individual player strategy. The PCnt column adjusts to the same number.

Likewise, if I adjust the PCnt column, set to 31. When I go to the player strategy page I see this...
PITCH COUNT LIMIT (0 = NO LIMIT)
Enter Limit: 31

Do you have some sort of proof of this? The player strategy screen changes generated those numbers.

Yeah, the number there is a pitch count. It should be respected, I'm not actually sure why it's not. If it's not working, I'd suggest resetting all those ones to 0, and then on your team strategy page, you can set a starting pitcher pitch count, and see if that gets used.

I believe if your bullpen is too exhausted, we might ignore them. But I know I've set a reliever to start with a similar 30 pitch count, and he went less than 2 innings for me, as I expected. It's possible something else went wrong to cause him to throw that.
