I am in Challenge Mode and players suck

I have played in "Challenge Mode" about 20 times over the last few years. The last 4 times I played my players start to suck after 20 years. Not players in their 20th year but the leagues 20th year.

I started the game in 1975 and by 1993 my team lead the league in "hitting" .235 avg and "HR" 87.

Although the league had 20+ guys hitting .300 and some even hitting 35 HR, the rest of the player on the team were in the low 200's or high 100's. Tony Gwynn at age 33 batted .256 and lead his team in hitting.

I messed around with aging and development settings and still I see league averages suffer.

I have played over 200 games over the last 7 years, but this has only happened the last 4 out of 10 games I have played in Challenge Mode.

What should I do

historical years have drafts that represent the era. if the league hit 2000hr then, you can't expect the players to look the same as in 2017 when they hit 6k.

i think what you need to do is change the "historical year" value in the settings... it is not the actual date, but what teh sim uses as a rail for historical stuff like draft pools and such.

so you set that to any 2019 or higher year (a year that does not exist as of buying that release... i.e. the "future" relative to the release date).

just put in "2051". *stats and ai settings area? thereabouts, you can find within a click or two andn glancing at GUI, if not.

now, by the time this starts to fix what you see it will be another 10-15 years into future before you see ~1/2 the league replaced with the new draftees under new rules. the disparity between players before and after this change may be drastic and have it's own repercussions on statistical results of league due to odd distributions of talent. (see below too-- same problems different causes)

there are other options that youcan use in combination too... like STats and AI settings... import totals and calculate the modifiers. even though they "look" weak, tehy will still reach the league totals you want to see.

you'd have to adjust to what your eye sees in this context... average might be "20/100 power" or somethign weird liek that... and it will have some effect on results copared to normal -- distribution of talent will not be in the same proportions, so the results per individual's piece of hte pie will be different too. (probabilities, not guarnateed result in any 1-data point)
