Flesh out the Ballpark effects, big time.
One thing that has been terribly exposed by PT beta play is that OOTP ballpark effects are not handled in a realistic fashion.
For example, I'm not sure that setting left-handed batting and HR effects both to .800 is even physically possible. If you move the fences out, you're going to increase the space in RF and increase the chances of getting a hit. Also this does not take the type of hitter into account. If you make adjustments to your right field wall, this would affect a left handed pull hitter quite a bit, a normal LH hitter slightly, and probably not affect a spray LH hitter at all. Wind seems to have too little influence (at least based on my relatively small observations) I think what should be done is: Remove the option to change a ballpark for L/R hitters entirely. Instead, have dimensions, and allow those to be changed. Until the season starts, you really won't be sure how much statistics will be affected by the changes just like IRL. Instead of changes affecting LH and RH batters, have it affect individual balls that are hit in the direction of the change. That is, if you change the right field dimensions, let that affect balls hit to RF no matter whether the batter is right or left handed. Provide more options. Other options that you'd have when adjusting/maintaining a ballpark would be:
It would also be nice to give GM's the option of making adjustments to their field within the game itself as opposed to going into commish mode. It would cost money, of course, but a real GM would have the leeway to make changes like this. |

I just want all the parks the same for PT and do away with any options for manipulation.

That's viable for PT, but this would also affect solo leagues which could use such a change.
I think no-one gave much thought to ballpark effects until the PT exploiting started. |

Would be nice if wall height played a factor. I tend to play my games in a version of the Baker Bowl.. In other games I have seen the ball bounce off the wall back to the 1B or 2B.

This is along with improving graphics are my biggest wishes for this franchise. i grit my teeth and deal with the ballpark factors in my online league. But in my solo leagues i always make all of the ballparks neutral.
i enjoy the background of playing my games in MMP or the Astrodome or visiting some of the other ballparks. But i wish the ballparks actually played a factor. Here's hoping... |
