dont have players get so pissed!

Ive lost one too many players to free agency because i offended them i guess by not offering enough money. It happens so frequently, and they wont sign even if you give em double what they wanted. I think it should be fixed in a patch, made less common.

This adds to the challenge and NOT being able to sign whoever you want when you want.

I like this feature. If you get to many offers, you can zero in on exactly what the minimum is that they would take. This makes you think before you try to underpay.

It's appropriate to have them get upset but not to the extent that they do.

If you lowball a guy a little bit, right at the beginning of the season, and you tick him off, I don't see that it makes much sense for him to be as irate at the end of the season, especially given the short amount of flexibity the interface gives you to modify your deal.

One of the worst things is, you can only change one attribute of an offer at a time. If you offer 3 years, at $3 million, for example. And he says he wants more money. Well maybe you are willing to offer him $4 million, but only if the contract is for 4 years. If you change the years field to 4, that's considered your second offer. Then you go to $4 million, and if he still doesn't like it, you're screwed. That's pretty ridiculous.

My feeling is that depending on how much lower your offer is than the player's minimum acceptable amount, his demands get subsequently higher because he's angry that you lowballed him.

So if he is willng to sign at $3 million, and you offer $1 million, suddenly he's no longer willing to accept just 3 million from you. It also would be nice to hear something more helpful than "I want more money!" Something like "We are miles apart here. Get serious with your offer." So his hidden minimum goes to $3.5 M. Then you offer $2 million. He's still upset, "Not interested," he says. And so on. Much more interesting than the 3-and-out deals currently used

I like the fact that, on more than one occassion, a top flight player will not sign because they either don't like my organization or want to play for a winner....increases the challenge by not being able to get anyone you want....

Just to illustrate how having a player po'd can be beneficial, I ticked off NEN who thought I insulted him with a 7+ million dollar contract extension....so I signed KARSAY for 4.9mil., and converted him to my closer...as of June 15th, he is 5-0 with 17 saves and a 0.00 era.....NEN who?...
