Gracenote ID What is it?

I just updated today and found a new ID in the players editor.
Gracenote ID. Any idea what it is or going to be used for?
Since I am making a database for next year, I want to make such it's not going to be a problem.

I once worked for Gracenote. They provide metadata associated with music and video titles to companies like Apple and Amazon. More recently they got into sports metadata via some company acquisitions...maybe that's the connection?

Wondered the same - might it add to the text commentary to say what song the player is walking up to?
