Best Defensive CF?

Hey all,

I'm curious what defensive gems you've pulled at CF.

I saw Andruw Jones had elite defense there when he was up in the AH (cost way more PP than I had at the time, and I don't like his hitting profile anyways), and I'm wondering:

1) Is there anyone better at CF defense at any rarity level?

2) Who might be a 'budget Jones' with at least comparable defense, whatever their hitting stats might look like?

I have Billy Hamilton there now, but I'd love to move him to LF and try to catch everything hit in the air...

I had both of the spectacular Kevins in my initial packs: Pillar and Kiermaier. Both are rated 102 in CF. Unfortunately I can't get either to hit a lick.

Obviously everybody knows how undervalued he is - no Bader card on the market at all! So I had to turn my overnight PPs (1,008 total

) into another pack and drew Odubel Herrera (70) and a 2001 Ichiro somehow only rated 69 to replace the Kevin Brigade with.

Obviously not the same as Harrison Mantle, but beggars can't be choosers.

Had to scoop up the one (Bader) on auction yesterday. Spent like 900. Worth every penny so far!

Devon White has been a great addition to the team. 24-13 record since his arrival. 19-23 prior to his arrival.

While not the best, Billy Hamilton is proving a great low value (61 rating) CF, very good D and stealing, he's also hitting .284 with 5 HRs from 52 games for us.

He's learning LF right now for me, though he held down CF until I was able to grab Kevin Pillar pretty cheap in the AH.

100% agree Hamilton is among the best budget/value CF/any OF really for a small ball strategy right now.

How much did you pay for Pilar in the AH if you don't mind me asking? I can only see the first page of the AH, everything else is grayed out.

A workaround for that is to filter card value to say 60-69 so that only bronze cards show up on that first (and only) page. If necessary, you can also filter to only one position.

Can't recall, but I think it was in the ~100-150 PP range.

I won't make a new thread because I'm confident Markus is aware of this, but it'd be nice to be able to use all the regular player-filtering tools when browsing the AH rather than having to search by rating and then individually scout each player for their defensive ability.

Until then, is there a big 'ol non-proprietary database/table of ratings we can run searches on to know what cards to target? I don't know the first thing about OOTP files especially as to how they relate to PT, so I don't know where I'd start trying to extract that info.
