Maryland vs. UNC Wilmington
Wow! One of the best finishes I have seen in a long time! A fadeaway three with a man on him.
P.S. Dangit Butler, I need Mississippi St. to win.

How about Steve Blake's three just before all that to get them in a position where any of that even mattered.

Meh, Blake was wide open and had his feet set. Big deal.

Yeah, but Blake
1) is a horrible shooter (at 41% this year, he's having the best year of his collegiate experience; shot 38% last year, and never above 40% before this year) 2) is inexplicably known for clutch shots (see: East regional final vs UConn). I was at the East Regionals last year, and had the pleasure of seeing UConn play (they've been my favorite team for 10 years now). When Blake hit that three, I was crushed. But he's got a knack for hitting the clutch shot, even if he airballs every one before that. -John Last edited by John C; 03-22-2003 at 04:52 AM. |

There has been some great games so far in this year's tournament. This one was pretty good but I don't know if it was as exciting as the NC State/Cal game.

I remember Blake nailed a half court shot against Indiana earlier in the Regular Season to end the half, off of a steal. Unfortunately, he released it less then a second too late, and it didn't count. He does have a knack for big time games.

Also, how about the UNC Wilmington player that made the free throws. Not only were they down by 1 with 5 seconds left, but he was only 9/22 on the year.

That was truly an amazing game, i though unc wilmington had it when their 40% free throw shooter made both of them, the ending although it wasn't a three in the game reminded me of Duke-Kentucky back when laettner took my beloved wildcats out of it with a buzzer beater.

Another great game, this one between Gonzaga and Arizona. When I first say Walton taking that shot at the end of OT, I was mad. It looked like a horrible shot. It wasn't pretty, but it worked.

A lot of great games so far. Many comebacks from large deficits and games coming down to the final seconds. Too bad frickin' Illinois couldn't come back though.

I have a feeling they'll lose to Texas.
