New Marlins logo

Apparently, this is the new Marlins logo:

Looks like a default create-a-team logo for a fish nicknamed team. In other words, it looks terrible IMO.

And I can't think of anything more thrilling than to go to a Marlins spring training game... Just think of the raw passion those fans have.

We were just talking in this thread about really effective team logos and why they are so. I am going to post this current Marlins logo over there because I think it qualifies. The new one, if true, is a step backwards.

That color scheme is ugly. Too reminiscent of the Astros color scheme of the 80's. A neon popsicle. The black and teal was slick. It was simple. I represented S Fla. without being too garish.

I'm liking the "Possible" new logo. I'm not a fan of the rainbow ones at all.

I'm a little put off by the magenta outline, though. Just black and teal with a silver outline. Basically, I'd like to see them just go back to the old logo. I'm given to understand that they are legally bound to be "Miami" as opposed to "Florida" as part of the stadium financing deal, but just take to old F logo and make it an M. Same font. Same coloring. Simple.

So since they said there are 4 logos they are decidining between, I wanted to see all 4. So in googled I search "new marlins logo" and yeah something seems off....
