I did 9-10 differents tests in historical mode in 70-80 area. For 3 I start in 1974, for the others in 80-81 or 81-82.

All after patch.

Some observations in terms of statistics.

Penalty minutes.

1981-82 real season :

In my simulation, none have more than 200pm.
The number of fights seems good (3players over 20 fights), but those players had les than 20 minors?!
In fact the league (sim) had an average of 274.4 PPop., in the real 1981-82 season it was 320... The temperament and sportmanship attributes are maybe too high for some players, or a change you made i dont know.

For shots on goals, now the elite players obtain a good total numbers in terms of goals scored, but in insaine numbers of shots ( and too low shot percentage).

Simulated : avg s/g% 11.7
Real : 12.9
But individually... At lease 1 or 2 players over 400 shots (Gretzky 459 and Bossy 429) and only 2 over 20%shot % in the 20 firsts scorers.
In real season, in the first 20 places, 9 players were over 20% and none bypass the 370 shots mark (Gretzky).
It is roughly a 10% total shots in exess for elite forwards and 5% too low in shots percentage for all players.

I already reed that you are aware of the ploblem for shots. I wroted it for helping you. I think thers is not sufficent PP opportunities and a lack of quality shots (or too many shots from long distance)

A precision : I look at the player role in my tests. For the Oilers I GM/coach and make sure Gretzky was in Gretzky Office with the lower level in individual shots tendencies. And even that he made 450 shots, 1.0 shots/game more than in his best season.

Avrg. G/game : Simulated 82-83 7.40, but it was 7.72 that year.

Avrg PP/game : Sim 6.86, in league parametres 7.74.

And for 3 seasons in a row NYI and EDM shots over 40 shots per season... I mean, 43.2 shots per game is rughly 10 shots per game over the record!

1981-82 and 1982-83 tests.

I got a 277.3 PP chances per teams in my tests.
1982-83 real season : 310 PP/teams

Totatal PIM still a little too low...

For the shots, the best players still have like 2/3 max 3/4 of the shots % they suppose to have, and its obvious in rela tion to the execive number of shots they do. (looks like too many outside shots).

7.19 Goal/game in 82-83 test, real life : 7.73 Goals/Game.

Ny Islanders and Oilers over 42 shots/game.

In another test I modified Gretzky (put him 20 at pass tendency, 16(-3) Getting Open, Shooting Acc +2 and Range +1.
I obtain a shot % of 17.9% (not too far 20.4 real life) beter than 14%.
Number of shots only 308, combination of GOpen and Pass Tendency mods.

Problem : before the patch I regularly obtain more than 100 Passes with Gretzky, now even with my last modified Gretzky 93, never over 100 Assists.
I will conduct an other test later today, but I have the feeling that is a data solution. Maybe its time to power up shot range for fowards and shot % for defenses.
