Sometimes this game is crushing

this is not about losing a WS in a bad way, or a top prospect dying. I had just won the WS in 2024 with the Rockies. it was our second in a row. i had just resigned giancarlo stanton who was 50 HR from breaking the all time record, coming off of a 70 HR season. sadly, after simming the first day of FA, my game crashed. no real reason why. open the game back up, all my files are corrupted completely ruined my whole day. not just this league which was my favorite solo in a while, but also my many other solo leagues. such a sad day

Ouch, things like that can happen (HD failure, bitrot etc)... so, golden rule: Back up your precious leagues from time to time!

auto restore probably won't work - but, hey, it's worth a try to save your game. here's a link - thanks to Lukas...

On the topic of backups, I backup twice a week during the season & once a week during the offseason. That's saved my butt a few times!

I always backup game at opening day.. All-star game and just after World Series or sometimes Jan 1. I learned the hard way as well. Welcome to the club of us not backing up. We live and learn. Hope you didn't lose the whole shebang.
