I noticed a bizarre error/paradox in the 1958 Western League

In the 1958 Western League there seem to be two teams called the Bruins, the Des Moines Bruins, and the Pueblo Bruins. I believe this is an error, although I can't exactly figure out how. Some sources refer to the Pueblo team as the Dodgers, others refer to the Des Moines team as the Dodgers. My guess is that the latter is correct as the Pueblo team was associated with the Cubs in 1958 and the Des Moines team was associated with the Dodgers. Either way, I would be curious if anyone could find any pictures/info on the Pueblo Bruins, I'd love to know what their uniforms looked like.

The Pueblo Dodgers are listed as being in the Western League for 1947 to 1958. The Des Moines Bruins from 1947 to 1958 as well.

The Pueblo Dodgers are listed as being in the Western League for 1947 to 1958. The Des Moines Bruins from 1947 to 1958 as well.

Having access to a newspaper archive, I consulted the Des Moines Register. The issue of July 29, 1958, has a page one story about the local baseball team. It begins, "The old and the new in Des Moines baseball tonight begin a five game stand at Pioneer Memorial Stadium when the Dodgers take on the Pueblo Bruins at 7:45 o'clock."

"The old and the new" referred to the fact that the Pueblo team was "well stocked with former Des Moines players".

Could you get me a scan of that article? I think I'll post a bug report on here so that the devs can change it in the game, and then find a way to contact Baseball Reference to change it. I don't suppose you could find any pictures of the Pueblo Bruins in that archive?

The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball —Third Edition agrees: Puebla Bruins and Des Moines Dodgers.
