Anyone know why I can't attach anything to a reply anymore??

see above it just happened today. The bottom left says "You may post attachments" but I can't. In fact I can't even use any of the buttons up there ^ Maybe I need to restart my computer...

When you go to attach it should pop open a new window. Is your browser blocking that popup?

Stupid me...I went to take a screen shot of what it looks like and realized that I couldn't post it...that's the whole point of the issue.

The spot that I usually click on to attach files looks like this:

Attach Files
Valid file extensions: bmp cfg csv doc fg gif jpe jpeg jpg lsdl pdf png psd str tbdx tbdx2 tbdx3 tbsf tbss tbst txt xls xml zip

There is nothing to click on. It's just text.

I am using Firefox (updated yesterday, which is one of things I was wondering if it was the problem) on a Mac.

I have a pop up blocker, but it's disabled for OOTPD

fwiw, i have firefox on pc and no probs... mac can be different, of course.

-- try firefox in safe mode... different results?

-clear cache -- all browsing history, cookies, form data -- click all of the boxes, but don't delete your passwords. if an option, that won't matter. tap 'alt' and it's in the menu system under history (ugh pc, but has to be an equivalent)

--if you've gone into firefox's settings any time recently, retrace steps. undo changes, or rest to default if you haven't, go try turning off pop-up blocker etc... and addons that block anything. even start turning them off 1 at a time and see if it's something unexpected. you can always turn them back on later.

--that's a java script button right? go to about:config, click 'i understand', then type in the search at top of that 'about:config' page

javascript.enabled

only 1 option will be visible, make sure it is true. if not i think you can jsut double click to toggle, but if not right click and 'modify'. trype 'true' no quotes, of course.

Does it work on Chrome for you? Could be something in the firefox build that broke it.

I can see manage attachments on my FF. My guess is you have a restricted browser setting, but I don't know where in FF it would be located. Follow No One's instructions, especially disabling all add-ons or using safe-mode. Also, make sure you're logged in to the OOTP forums on FF while making the attempt to add a file attachment.

ohhhhh interesting. Now I am in a private browser and the "Manage Attachments" button is back. Does that mean I have to clear my cache to solve this?

It likely either means cache or that a browser add-on is causing the issue.

i had a lot of issues with Firefox working correctly with OOTP earlier in the year. i finally gave up and went to Vivaldi (i know it's a chrome offshoot, but i don't like Chrome itself.) Lately Firefox seems OK with OOTP, but i still use Vivaldi the most. Seems these things go in irritating cycles. Hope you get it resolved.

adblocker?

if it is the cause, you can likely find one that won't be a problem.

did you try typing this into location bar:

about:config
(instead of google.com etc)

then in search field at type type:

javascript.enabled

copy and paste that even... there's a "." between. only 1 item will be on screen. ensure it is 'enabled' or 'true' i guess ... double-click with left mouse to toggle, if not.

if after closing and re-opening the problem persists, it is almost assuredly an addon causing this change in settings.

edit: that was weird, my post got re-arranged. some lines got added to end from middle, somehow.

I'm a long time FF user who reluctantly went to Chrome because FF was crap for several versions.

I have all sorts of trouble with Firefox here at OOTP. And the weird thing is, it is ONLY here at OOTP. All other forums I go to things work normally.

But none of the buttons work. And if I do anything other than post a quick reply, which is what I"m doing now, I get formatting errors and everything runs into one paragraph.

Firefox does not like OOTP. Or OOTP does not like Firefox. Or both.
