Rockies Chase HR record while stanton chases Single Season Record

it is th estart of the 2021 season. I am running a challenge mode save as the Rockies and after a big tear down in 2018/19, we made the WC game last season and have our sights on the division this year. The Rockies have brought in many solid players Such as Mike Trout (acquired for a very big return from LAA in 2019), Mookie Betts (acquired from Boston for a package of 5 prospects), Craig Kimbrel (FA Signing) and MONSTER masher Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton has hit 64/46/62 home runs the last 3 seasons. He enters his age 31 season with 439 HR and a legitimate shot at not only 600 HR, but the ALL TIME and single season record. This should be exciting

Well, Stanton is MASHING

Through 54 games he has mashed 31 HR, on pace for 93!!! on the season. the 31 HR includes 21 in just his last 28 games.

Stanton has 7 Multi HR games and of those, he hit 3 HR in two of them. he currently sits at 470 career HR and will likely surpass 500 this season

Ah, that's how it goes. I once had a pitcher go 15-1 in his first 17 starts, putting him on pace for 30 wins in a modern MLB environment! Well, he ended up 23-5, which is still a spectacular record, but far from the record-setting season I was hoping for. The long baseball season truly is the great equalizer.

Much like Ubaldo Jimenez (IRL) for the Rockies in 2010, with his 15-1 start and eventual 19-8 record. As you say, in the long season of major league baseball, that is indeed how it goes.

Yeah. I had Bruce Chen once go 14-1 before his wicked regression to the mean took his ERA from like 2.05 to 6 something. I think it was in OOTP 16 but I can’t recall for sure....

In my current sim Stanton opt-ed out of his Yankee contract and signed with Boston and put up monster numbers his first year, broke the single-season Home Run and RBI record.

Game #169 Saw stanton lead off the second inning with HR #74! a long 427 ft shot to left center
Stnaton also managed to hit a second home run later on in the game.

Stanton managed to finish with 78 HR, including an unprecedented 21!!! home runs in the month of september, breaking Sammy Sosa's record of 20. And he wont even come close to winning MVP thanks to teammate Ryan Mcmahon (10.4 WAR, .365 average and 57 HR)
