Question about "AI minor league depth charts based on current ratings or potential"

I have have always wondered exactly what the effect of the setting does. If set to potential does it make sure that the high rated prospects get more playing time? Or does it also change what players are promoted in the minors too? If anyone could clear that up for me I would appreciate it.

i don't think it has anythign to do with promotions except the effects of more playing time.

yeah, it will play the 21/80 potential 3b over the 20/80 potential 3b.

i can say that it will not play them at top-middle of lineup if they are not as well rated current ability. so, it shouldn't hurt w/l record much if at all.

i have always used this setting. i don't see any major problems. i know a thread exists where markus or lukas say they like 'current ability' for that setting, so i doubt either choice will break the game.

it's still going to be a crapshoot for the lowly rated and/or poor scouted players. but... isn't that the point of borderline players? and, no one has perfect accuracy of scouting, so that should happen too.

i'd wager potential is best for ai, but as a human you could always force start those you need under 'current ability' setting use and probably gain an advantage over the ai developing players abeit a small one.

Well, I manage my minor league system myself. I was more concerned about what it did for the CPU controled teams. I am for anything that helps the CPU manage their minors more realisitically.
