Acquiring position upgrades per Owner goal
Owner is asking me to upgrade at 1B and aquire a Gold Glove winner. How can I do this with the current trade logic that tries to fleece me every single week? I only have four ranked prospects that I would rather not trade away

Generally if the ai is asking you to upgrade somewhere, it's something you'd want to do anyway. So you're probably on the look out for a 1B for your future already, and generally the owner gives you a few years to complete the goal. So even if you go for potential over ability, by the time the request expires you should be good.
Gold glove winner shouldn't be too hard. Check the trade deadline or FA's in the off-season, there's probably an aging vet that'd make a decent backup and good for clutch playoff spots. Doesn't have to win a gold glove in the future, just in the past. Unless you have trading on the hardest setting, you should be able to find a beneficial way to trade away strength to fill your weakness at 1B. |

Thanks for the post. My 1B currently is elite on the field defensively but probably one of the worst hitters in the league, 7th in most strikeouts and around .185 in both batting average and opb. Probably why my owner doesn't like him but yes now I've actually managed to trade some triple A vets and 3rd round for a good-looking 1B prospect. I've also converted my utility SS to 1B but it didn't seem to register yet.I think it was my lack of fist basemen in the entire system that triggered this goal as I only had 10 across all affiliates. I forgot to convert some draftees over...heh...oops ![]()

The goal is based on your rank at the position. In order to satisfy the goal, you will need to have a player ranked fairly high (top three to five in the league) on your active roster before the time expires.

Oh ok thanks. He only gave me this season to do it. Don't have money or really any assets I can trade for a top guy. Best I could do for now after trading for the prospect is sign a vet on a 1-year deal an hope for the best. He hit .301/.386 last year. Gold Glove players is within the next two seasons

you can kind of cheat the system by acquiring an old guy who is cheap that has won a gold glove in their career, it doesn't have to be recent or won after the season.
