Auto save between innings?

Is this possible? In 19, or 18? Losing 9-10+ innings of play is pretty bad for a play every game player.

May I suggest you fix the problem instead of working around something that shouldn't happen. What are the symptoms you see?

The game crashes without warning in the middle of an at bat. No symptoms or logic about when it happens. I hit the button to run the at bat, get the swirling circle, and crash to desktop. Playing through Steam.

you'd have to 'save and exit' at various points to auto-save it.

any time it crashes, you'll lose data in between of course. but, if you save exit in 5th or after somethign important happens (for you or the other team, i hope), it might save a bit of frustration?

if not on newest patch, check patch notes and see if that's something that others have reported and fixed since... also, turn off any antivirus real-time protection stuff... mcafee, norton, whatever.. that junk is useless, anyway. see if crashes still occur... of if you know it happens after multiple hours of use etc... close, re-load and maybe that resets clock before you have crash problems.

i haven't had much of this problem in the past ~5 years at least. i know when i first started playing it would crash on my occasionally, but not too often. it really shouldn't happen except under extreme circumstances -- heavy multitasking and many hours of use etc, type stuff. anything possible can and will happen in time being the idea there. if you give it enough time, eventually any app will crash on you.

i don't play out games - but couldn't you go to the FILE and then manually save the game at any point? i do that when i manually add a number of players to my fictional game, so i don't lose my edits.

Nah, you can't do that in-game.

unless restricted by challenge mode, there should be a save and exit button option somewhere. you can save mid-PA, if you want. unless something has changed in '19 or challenge mode etc...

We should probably try to find out what you are doing to the poor game, because I've played various iterations of OOTP for over 4,000 hours and played out about 8,000 games, and it crashed on me exactly once, and I know exactly that that was my fault, and not the game's.
