Can Someone Tell Me If This League Setup Will Work
Here is my plan so far and you can check out my progress of freebies here:http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=285409
Now the league theory is to simulate as much of real world baseball as possible. I would love to recreate recruiting for college teams, however, the current hs to col feeder system will not accommodate this. So i struck out to create a feeder system of hs-mlb, creating the college leagues as indy, with each NCAA conference working as it's own indy league. The hs to mlb feeder system set up consists of over 2800 teams. Question: Will the unsigned and undrafted players be available to the college indy teams? Now i know this is a lot of teams, when you include the ncaa d1, d2, and d3 teams, this is a league of close to 3500 teams. Now I don't anticipate simming these leagues as a group, I will set the league up to not simulate in the background. So basically I will simulate games as they come up. Has anyone tried to accomplish such a league? Will I be able to set financials for m Indy college teams so that they will sign these hs players that develop in the hs feeder league? I am looking to create as many hs feeders as I stated, because the league's setup is to make the hs feeders as ground zero for talent to provide the whole system. I also set up these college indy leagues to feed the MLB draft. Will these guys show up, or with that amount of hs feeder players available, will they not even register? Also, the league will be set up to have a 40 round draft with 80 rounds of players available. I appreciate any feedback, as this has become a major dilema of unknown consequences in my life! |

Your sim speed is going to be god awful horrible. Even the default feeder system addition slows down sim speed by so much.
I couldn't imagine what your sim speed would be. Even 1 day at a time would probably take 5+ minutes. Unless you have something like 64 core processor and 128gb of ram. Even then I doubt OOTP is even coded to be used at that high scale. |

It’s a cool idea, and if performance weren’t a consideration, I’m sure every MLB player would LOVE to have every player come with a detailed pre-pro pedigree.
But the engine just isn’t really designed that way (to truly simulate HS and college baseball), and odds are you’re going to hit numerous snags along that way that will cause headaches or workarounds of various levels of frustration. And as mentioned above, the performance is going to be awful even if you turn off every possible option in those leagues. So while I totally appreciate what you’re doing, I don’t think it’s going to work out the way you want when all is said and done. Just my two cents though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
