Surface Go for OOTP

Curious if any early adopters have taken the plunge.
The tablet itself runs in Windows 10 S mode. Which is a streamlined version of Windows 10 that can undergo a free one time change to full on Windows 10 home.
The hardware is powerful for a 10 inch tablet and should be able to run small and medium sized OOTP leagues. It might have some issues with face gen or 3D play.
Other very light gaming could also be possible if you tinker and test with games settings.

For the price and size it looks like a real competitor to 10 inch iPads and android tablets.
In the ‘S mode’ your locked into running apps from the windows store but as I said before it appears you have the one time option of running a full version of Windows 10 home.

The top model is IMO a reasonable 550 USD and you get a ULV dual core Pentium CPU
8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB NVMe SSD
And Microsoft PCs have fantastic build quality and screens.
Like the Surface Pro 4 and 2017 model it would be best as a work and productivity machine that can be pressed into service for some light gaming.

And it’s 2-4 times cheaper.
The ‘budget’ model Surface Go is 400 USD and has the same processor with 4 GB of Ram and a 128 GB eMMC SSD.
And it keeps the same build quality and great screen.

Seems like a device to give the higher end iPads and android tablets a run for their money and it is not locked into only being able to run iOS or whatever version of Android.

And no I don’t work for Microsoft
I have just been waiting for a company to finally put a full desktop OS onto a tablet and this might be the one.

I currently have a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 so no need for the ‘GO’ but if anyone else picks up a Surface Go I would be curious to see how it runs OOTP and some other light games in such a compact package.

The dream of one day playing the fulll version of OOTP and other like games on a device smaller than even a ultra book laptop is coming closer and closer.

hook it up to big screen hdtv and get a wireless kb and mouse...

i don't get how people can stare at these tiny phones and tiny tablets. i'm not even old! plus, they don't like me. my fingers don't work on them 1/2 the time -- touch=nothing. i'd need a stylus at all times.

It is an added cost but you can get the surface pen and a type cover with a nice keyboard and very high quality track pad. It also has a USB-C and blue tooth so you could use a mouse if you wanted.
