Pitch/hot zone data

Has there been any discussion on how difficult it would be to add pitch by pitch data for pitchers and batters? Maybe to be able to construct a heatmap for a pitcher's preferred spots, and hot zones for a batter?

Just thought it might be a cool way to add strategy to the game - like making a certain pitcher's strategy to paint the corners or stick with certain pitches in 2-strike counts or strategize against certain batters ahead of a series, or using a batter's heat maps for either the benefit of the pitcher or for the benefit of the batter himself, to allow coaches to implement certain training regimens to fix problems, etc.

I'm new to the game, so this may be a dumb/impossible idea for reasons I'm not aware of.
