Prospects getting stuck in one rating category, any tips and tricks to give em that push?
So I've noticed a lot in OOTP 19 I have a lot of prospects that their progress in one rating category kind of gets stuck. IE a pitcher with potential 18/14/15 stuff/movement/control rating progress nicely in Stuff and movement as well as his pitches but control is stuck at 7 and has been for a good bit of time. Has anyone found a trick to kind of jumpstart that last little bit?

You could try hiring a Finesse Pitching coach. Outside of that, I'm not sure if there's too much you could do.

yeah, most likely luck.
if it's a bit low for current level or related stat(s) are off, then i might demote, otherwise i keep them where they ~belong. if it's a 3rd pitch, i force start as SP at AA/AAA, because that's when they start to get pushed to bullpen if third pitch lags too much. as long ast 20-24ish you should have hope for it... 24-26+ and it starts to dwindle down to zero chance of any further improvement. these are the guys i like to trade before they progress too far. it's easier to see a lagging pitch, but i only look at a handful of batters in mil, so i can usually tell if someone is not developing from the last time i looked. |
