My game keeps shutting down and closing... has been an issue with the last several updates ... only now is getting worse and worse.... does anyone have any suggestions ??? Just so you know my laptop only has OOTP on it as it's only used for OOTP and is new and bought specifically for ootp19

I'd do the following:

1 - Full back up of league files
2 - Zip all back ups and save on external media
3 - Complete uninstall of OOTP
4 - Download all video, sound drivers and fresh install
5 - Reboot
6 - Run full anti-virus scan
7 - Reboot
8 - Download OOTP
9 - Run a test league for a season or two with executing saves, shut down, reload, etc
10 - Reboot
11 - Reload your back up leagues

Got it, I should have stated that I was having issues and a fresh install of drivers and the game fixed it.

But since I did it all and not scientifically I don't know what actually fixed the issue.

What version of Windows do you use? Not just win7, 8 or 10, but also what build? I am having similar issues. I am wondering if it is the Windows build.

What build of Windows? Not just 10, but maybe an insider build?

I did wonder if it shuts down because I do not have laptop hooked up to internet much of the time as the only time I do is when I need to update the build of this game. Oddly the game seems to like it better when I am online coincidence I am sure

Yes.

You have it seems to be the most current non-Insider version and that is stable.

Now, I'm wondering.

Is yours shutting down while loading league files or when?

shuts down after playing the games out after maybe 15 games or so then the game freezes and poof gone. that's the most common way it occurs and once in a while it will close just after I save the game. This is the reason why I save game never after evert game day unless in offseason. and backup 3 times a game year but commonly twice.

like I said the game seems to like it when the laptop remains online of which I find strange as the issue doesn't occur as much or as often

What's your video card? Are the drivers the most up to date? Go to device manager or install something like Speccy to find out this info.

I would move all of your game files to a different directory. Completely delete OOTP from the computer. Purge it every where even run something like System Ninja to make sure every trace of it is gone from the file structure as well as the registry.

Then a clean fresh install of OOTP. Run a quick start as a test and see if the crash comes back. If it doesn't crash after thorough testing then move your game files back and begin testing again.

awhile back ago someone on the OOTP team said it was a memory leak issue ….. Kinda hoping there is a way that I can fix it. Unfortunately I am no longer a computer guy as I been out of the game as it were for over 10 years now.

Does it happen after 2/3 hours of gaming? Could it be overheating

It's not...I have it happening just on OOTP only, especially after and during file updates.
