How do I get game to fit on my 40" TV?
Hello All
I am running game through steam. I just downloaded it and it is incredibly stretched. Stretched to the point where I cant even start a game. My steam itself fits screen fine and other games like Destiny 2 fit it just fine. How to I adjust this game so I can play it? Thanks for any info |

Is it displaying in full screen when loading? There is a settings button at the bottom of the home screen. There are display settings in there. Try windowed vs. full screen. Don't have access to the game right now but I believe there are other display settings in there as well.

typically < alt-enter > will toggle full-screen and windowed mode in an application.. if that doesn't work you need the Settings from the main ootp screen after it loads up -- just as yawgmoth mentioned.
what's resolution of 40" tv? 720p? 1080p? match native reso for best rendering. 4k? even better, although if you aren't near your tv, you may want 1080p for more easily read text relative to distance from tv. if it's 720p, that's 1280*720. It likely can also do 1080i but i do not advise it. interlaced videos looks like crap. even though it has more lines of resolution, technicallly speaking, 1080i looks worse than 720p. it could be windows just defaulting to something when attached to a new display, if the tv is not the normal monitor. may just need a simple disply settings change in windows and it will all fix itself after that. belated edit: tip: turn off any processing done by the tv on the image. it can cause input lag. so, turn off mpeg noise reduction, turn off all that type of stuff. if there's a "game mode" on that tv, it will do that for you. otherwise, you'll move the mouse or type on your keyboard and there will be a delay between what you do and what you see on the screen... sometimes to drastic effect, other times not so much. It sounds like your TV has a setting that fills the screen automatically (this is useful for TV's when so many channels may have the dreaded black bars across the sides or top/bottom). It's probably set on 1080p (1920X1080) or 4K (3840X2160) and OOTP is set on something like 1280X768 or something (I can't recall what it comes up on when first installed). But if that's the case the amount of stretching to fill the screen would be quite a bit. When the game first comes up, there is a SETTINGS selection down near the bottom. (It is very small letters and in white) Select that and change resolution to 1920X1080 and see if that helps. ADDED: If it's stretched so badly you can't make out or can't find the settings selection and you're using a laptop then you can simply switch screens to your laptop screen, load the game, and change the resolution on that screen. If you're using a desktop... not so much lol.
