What do you think of deadline trading?
I play out all my games, expansion team, real rosters. Goal is to draft decent vets and try to trade them at the deadline to "win now" teams. Trading on hard/neutral, it's like 55/35/10. AI trade on normal.
I've never found a lot of trade volume at the deadline, but I thought the last patch might change that. I'm only 40 games in, my unscientific test was to sim ahead to the week of the break and offer these players to "win now" teams based on need. I didnt' find many good deals. Maybe this is because those teams were weakest at RP, and the AI doesn't seem to value RP's very highly? Anyway, I wanted to see if you guys had any experience here. And if you have more realistic success with other options....I usually use "shop around" to assess interest. |

good time to sell and a bad time to buy.
if i need a trade deadline deal for any reason other than injury or similar unpredictable and/or unlikely problem, i didn't do it right that offseason ![]() i usually have a good team, therefore i don't do much selling and i won't sacrifice future seasons for random bad luck that 1 year. so that limits choices significantly, even if i was in the market to add a piece to the puzzle at the deadline. it all adds up to me not buying at the deadline. ai trade #s? i dont' have a real world point of reference for average trades at the deadline to make any assessment of it all. if they need to bump frequency a bit, i'm sure it'll happen in a future patch. |
