Screwed up my league!

So never listen to random people on threads....How the hell do I get my league back!??? I need Markus, Matt, Lukas or someone with OOTP to help me...

lol, your lack of competency isn't my fault... maybe, i shouldn't try to help people who can't help themselves

nothing i said was wrong or harmful to any rational implementation. it was a way to troubleshoot in a rational and logical step-by-step process what was wrong since you gave incomplete information.. i tried to cover all possibilities given a lack of good information from the end-user..

not a random person.. mba-finance, CS undergrad, minor in bio/chem.. well-rounded and know what i speak about.

Ok, so what's actually happening now?

Is the template file error the main problem you have or is something else going on as well?

Why do you think the league was deleted? What happens when you try to find it?

Unless you actually intentionally deleted the league yourself, what you linked there shouldn't have deleted anything as far as I can see. But if you changed the data directory, you may just have to tell the game to look in the old directory for your save.

For the patch issue, try this to start with:

Go to settings > troubleshooting > force game data re-installation and click that. Let the game do its thing. Then restart your game and try again.

I tried reinstalling...but there's no backup on my local disk. I still have the leagues in My Documents but I don't see a backup there either.

Of the saved league you mean?

As I mentioned, I really doubt it was deleted, but just may be in a different folder that the game is looking for.

Are you on a PC or Mac?

On a Pc, can you look here?

Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 19\saved_games

Is there a folder that your save is in there?

Ok, so that's good! Looks like all the files needed are still there.

Now open OOTP ad go to 'load game'. What do you see there?

Ok, so still in OOTP go here:

Settings > Troubleshooting > Open folder containing saved games.

Show me a screenshot of what pops up then.

Ok, thanks!

So now do this.

Go to settings > expert.

Is there something written in the line 'custom data path'? Maybe post a screenshot of that screen as well for me.

Yes there is...so then I follow it to the backup folder and select it and the last picture is what happens.

Ok, go to settings > troubleshooting and click on 'open folder containing app.cfg and engine.cfg

Click ok on the popup. Then in the folder that will open delete the file called paths.cfg

Close the window. Go back to OOTP and close the game.

Restart and then go to load game (don'tt go to restore from backup, just the first load game screen) Now does your save show up in the list or not?
