Transfer offline league to online?

Posted this in the OOTP 18 forum but seems that there's more action here. Forgive the double post please.

Hi all, hope this makes some sense as I don't know with 100% certainty what I'm talking about.

For the last 14 years I (and 29 others, with minimal ownership changes) have been in an OOTP league. Only the commissioner owns the actual game, though. We all submit lineups, roster moves, trades, etc. on a message forum, which he then processes in the program, simulates the games, then posts the results on our website.

After a decade and a half he's grown tired of this and wants to end the league. The owners would like to keep the league going, but we are interested in doing it online where we all own copies of the game and make our own roster moves (like most online leagues seem to be). The thing is, we aren't sure how to do this, since we have no experience with the online side of things.

Our commissioner said he'd send someone the league files. If we got all the league files, is there a way we could all download the game and upload the files so that we could start an online league from the exact place we left off with all the same teams and players?

Step by step.

If the current owner will let you have the current game file unlocked you are halfway there.

You will all have to buy the game. Fortunately I believe OOTPD offers a small discount for bulk orders.

Contact Lukas Berger on the forums. He is an extremely helpful person.

Engage one of the commissioners of online leagues here on the forums. Running a download/upload online league requires some skill and planning including a website.
