Trying to play a game with a few friends, appears its not possible.
I have played OOTP for about 4 years now by myself. I have a few friends that want to all play together. However, it appears its an all or nothing approach for OOTP.
Challenge mode only allows 1 player. Regular mode allows everyone to turn on commissioner mode and have editor access. (If you could have a commish password this would have worked!) Online mode is the best choice as we can all have a partial password so no one person can access the commish settings. However, the game is unplayable in online mode as no one can shop players or attempt trades. I can see why its set this way, but when there is only 4 Human teams, this won't work. I thought the commish would just have to approve an accepted trade involving a Human, but this is not the case. I am looking for some insite on how we can play the game together with just us. It appears we are going to have to find a different game with what I've learned unless someone can tell me otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 70 people have looked at this and no one has any input. I am assuming this means there is no good way to play this game with 4 people.
Its a shame this game is for 1 or close to 30 people only. It would have been fun, but I will have to look elsewhere I assume. |

It may work if you trust each other to have commish powers in online mode. Then you and/or your friends could propose trades and let the others approve or not before proceeding.
Only problem I see is the lack of AI-AI trading in that mode.If the AI will make trades as it does in solo leagues then good.

Thank you for the reply.
Maybe I'm overthinking, but having the ability for everyone to edit players may be too tempting for some

Once you set the league in setup to be an "Online League", whoever is Commish will create a password. Only the Commish can edit, or access any of the league setup options, process trades, etc. Owners only get control of their team.
They can bid on FA's, their bids will be in their exports, which the Commish imports before each sim. Getting confused yet? It's not difficult but can be overwhelming if you've never been in an online league. I would suggest communicating with someone who runs an online league, there are a bevy of responsibilities for the Commish. |

I understand that part, but what was suggested was to allow everyone to have commish status so as to allow trades and such since that isn't possible in normal online play.
Looks like its another dead end
