Just taken over the Brewers and I have zero budget.....help!
Hey,
So I'm two years in, and have just taken over the Brewers. I've just received my budget from the owner, and its given me a starting situation where Total Money Available is -$10m. I have no money for extensions or free agents, so as far as I can see I'm extremely limited in ways I can improve the team. Apart from trading away valuable players, are they any other approaches I can use to give myself some room to manoeuvre? Thanks, Wibbs |

change scouting and development budgets. not necessarily a good option if rebuilding... imo, i'd rather take my lumps suffering and get better draft picks if there's no hope of a playoff berth.
contracts are guaranteed, so you have to trade if you want to free up money. can't release them. how long before you have a playoff team? trade older players that likely won't make it that far. trade overpaid players, because... enough said about that. basically if they will be ~32+ in ~3+ years (maybe 5 with a small market?), be wiling to get rid of them. nickel and dime stuff -- get rid of MiL depth with costs... you can find MiL contracts of similar quality.. again, simply won't matter for a non-playoff team to have "good" depth. 70wins instead of 68? yippty s%#@ worry about that whe nyou have a team capable of making the playoffs and increase chances of a top-5 draft pick.you could turn on comissioner mode and go to "Team Settings" and change your budget, or zero out misc. expenses etc... even affect revenue - temporarily with a short term edit to existing contract or permanently by changingn market size and fixing current contract to reflact new market size (use accounting screen - shows future media revenues, then match it up for current contract). could zero out cash on hand, since that's not your mistake, lol. still cheating Last edited by NoOne; 04-14-2018 at 05:26 PM. |
